Historic $120 Billion Deal Between the United States and Qatar


 A New Chapter Begins in Doha-Washington Relations

The United States and Qatar have signed a monumental agreement worth nearly $120 billion, covering trade and defense sectors. The agreement was signed on Wednesday in Doha between U.S. President Donald Trump and Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. According to the White House, this deal is expected to significantly strengthen the economic and strategic partnership between the two nations.

Trump Receives Royal Welcome in Doha

Following his visit to Saudi Arabia, President Trump arrived in Qatar on Wednesday, where he was greeted with an elaborate royal reception and state ceremonies. He later held a high-level meeting with Emir Sheikh Tamim in Doha. After the meeting, the two leaders jointly announced that the agreement would elevate the economic ties between their countries to new heights.

Major Deal Between Qatar Airways and Boeing

One of the most significant aspects of the agreement is the $96 billion deal between Qatar Airways and American aircraft manufacturer Boeing. Under this agreement, Qatar Airways will purchase a total of 210 aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the 777X series.

Significant Investment in Defense Capabilities

Additionally, Qatar will invest $38 billion to upgrade the Al Udeid Air Base and enhance its air defense capabilities. Sheikh Tamim described the agreement as a "historic milestone," stating, "This deal will take Doha-Washington relations to an entirely new level."

Focus on Syria Talks

As part of President Trump’s trip, senior officials from the United States, Turkey, and Syria will hold an important meeting in Washington on Thursday to discuss the possible lifting of sanctions on Syria.

Final Leg of Middle East Tour

President Trump’s three-nation Middle East tour will conclude today as he arrives in the United Arab Emirates. The White House described the tour as laying the foundation for "new achievements in trade and strategic partnerships."
