🟥 Bloody Gaza: Death Toll Surpasses 53,000 as Peace Remains Elusive

Israel has intensified its military operations with the aim of taking full control of the Gaza Strip. In the latest wave of attacks on Friday alone, at least 100 Palestinians lost their lives. Over the course of 18 months of continuous conflict, the total death toll has reached 53,119—most of them women and children.

According to data from Gaza's Health Ministry, more than 250 people were killed across Thursday and Friday. Devastating ground and aerial attacks were carried out in northern Gaza, turning large areas into rubble. The Israeli military reported that over 150 targets were struck on Friday.

▶️ Origins of the Conflict and Humanitarian Catastrophe

The conflict reignited on October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a deadly attack on Israel, killing around 1,200 people and taking approximately 250 hostages. Since that day, Israel has launched relentless military assaults on Gaza.

So far, more than 119,919 people have been injured. Alongside the violence, Israel has blocked all humanitarian aid since March 2, leading to an extreme shortage of food and clean water. The humanitarian crisis continues to worsen each day.

🗣️ Trump's Optimism vs. UN's Rejection

In response to the dire situation, former U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed solidarity with the people of Gaza. At an event in Doha, the capital of Qatar, he said, “The people of Gaza are suffering terribly, but I believe something very positive will happen within the next month.”

Trump also reiterated a controversial idea he had previously floated—that if the U.S. were to take control of Gaza, it could establish a “freedom zone” where civilians could live safely. “Let the United States get involved. I’d be proud if we take control of Gaza,” he said.

However, the United Nations has decided not to participate in the upcoming U.S.-led humanitarian relief effort in Gaza. A UN spokesperson stated that the plan is neither neutral nor independent and therefore does not align with the organization’s humanitarian principles. “This operation does not meet our criteria of impartiality,” the spokesperson said.

🕊️ Talks at a Standstill

Meanwhile, ceasefire and hostage release negotiations between Israel and Hamas in Qatar remain deadlocked. According to Israeli news outlet Haaretz, neither side has shown willingness to compromise, and the U.S. appears to be losing interest in the mediation process.
