Stephen Curry Leads Warriors Past Rockets in Game 3 Thriller, 104–93

In a pivotal Game 3 of the 2025 NBA Western Conference First Round, the Golden State Warriors overcame a double-digit deficit to defeat the Houston Rockets 104–93 at Chase Center, taking a 2–1 series lead.

Despite missing veteran forward Jimmy Butler due to a pelvic contusion sustained in Game 2, the Warriors were buoyed by a vintage performance from Stephen Curry, who exploded for 36 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds. Curry’s relentless energy and clutch shooting steadied Golden State through early struggles and helped close the first half on a 13–0 run to trim a 13-point Rockets lead to just three.

Buddy Hield added crucial scoring off the bench with 17 points, connecting on five triples, while Gary Payton II delivered an impactful 16 points—11 of which came in the fourth quarter as Golden State clamped down defensively and closed the game on a 20–10 run.

Houston, coming off a strong showing in Game 2, was unable to replicate that energy. Jalen Green, the star of their previous win with 38 points, was limited to just 9 points on 4-of-11 shooting. Fred VanVleet led the Rockets with 17 points, and Alperen Şengün chipped in with a 15-point, 11-rebound double-double.

Golden State’s defensive adjustments were key, holding the Rockets to just 44 points in the second half. Their intensity, paired with Curry’s brilliance, tilted the momentum firmly back in the Warriors’ favor.

Game 4 is set for Monday night at Chase Center, where Golden State will look to push Houston to the brink of elimination.
